What I found out for myself is, that you just have to use "supply prohibited" for Work Clothes. Just to add I think the sequence in which it's best to do this would help too, I assume it to be as written? I think this is incredibly helpful to both true newbies and those with less experience - I know some of the expert level testers feel it might spoil the game but in truth you don't have to read it and it will help encourage those who find it a bit bewildering This should get you sorted with a suitable starting city and a positive income (assuming you don't have a Trade or War fleet).
With the help of Ubi-Trenchcoat, we thought about creating a thread where you folks can share your starting tips out.
*Edit 2: You can control 100% of the shares without taking control of the island, it's only if you buy the share in the middle that you'll take full control of the island and lose out on the revenue stream from the shares. I'd recommend "sell" early on, as you don't want to start buying goods if something goes wrong on your island. Selling goods is easier than ever, you just go to your harbor, and click on the good you want to sell, there you'll see 3 options, "balance", "purchase" and "sell". Hope this helps some people, also once you advance further in the game to artisan, invest in visitors as fast as possible, as they provide very good credit and make expanding your empire much easier.Įdit: Also any wares that you're making in excess, you should always sell off, it's really good passive income, and since resources are infinite you're doing yourself a favor always selling off the excess goods. In my current game I'm making around 5,5k credits from shares alone. I cannot remember when you can start buying shares, but I believe it's fairly early on, and definitely a good invest if you save up a bit. If you're playing with non competitive npc's it can be really beneficial to invest in shares on their islands, it'll provide a good balance, just make sure you don't buy their island unless you want to control it.*
